Diderot and d'Alembert and I have more than a few things in common. We all believe that art began as a "symbols" of the objects surrounding us, which later developed into luxury and it now incorporates both symbolism and luxury. I believe that human kind create a piece of art not for the sake of drawing it but with a purpose. Whether it is to idly express their subconscious, or to simply enjoy the process of creation. We create with purpose. Although I do disagree when Diderot and d’Alembert say that man can only draw what is within their knowledge. The element of imagination creates endless boundaries for the human kind. The human knowledge is a fairly scientific term concerning the subject matter of art considering that science is only involved in the mechanism such as geometry of the art rather than the language of the art.
